✦ Synopsis

The reaction of rac./meso-(la-~2,112-C.THl2){Ni(1]2,~2-C7Hl2)}2 with 2,6-dimethylpyridine (Me2py) affords (Me2py)Ni0q2,rl2-C7I~12) (1). Complex 1 serves as precursor for the preparation of the Ni(0)-bis(alkyne) complexes (Me2py)Ni012-PhC~SiMe3)2 (2) and {(Me2py)Ni}2(la-rl2,rl2-Me3SiC~--C-C-=CSiMe3)2 (3). The lattea" is the first complex in which two metal centers are bridged by two butadiyne ligands. For 1-3 the molec~ttlar structures have been deternlinexl by X-ray crystallography.
