An l, m, n -generated group G is a quotient group of the triangle group Ž . ² < l m n : T l, m, n s x, y, z x s y s z s xyz s 1 . In this paper the authors continue Ž . the study on the p, q, r -generations and nX-complementary generations of the sporadic simple groups, where p, q, r are distinct primes. The problem is resolved for the groups HS and McL.
