US-based battery maker, ZBB Energy hopes enthusiasm for renewable energy will whet investor appetites for its $10m listing on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2003.

The company has an R&D unit in Perth, but makes and distributes zinc-bromine batteries from Wisconsin. The batteries allow 100% energy stored to be recovered without damage.

ZBB Energy CEO, Rob Parry said alternatives like lead-acid loose about 65% of energy stored.
