Purification of the Heme Peptide of Cytochrome c by Afftnity Chromatography

The ferriporphyrin c-peptide obtained from horse heart cytochrome c by digestion with pepsin can be purified by affinity chromatography on bovine or human serum albumin coupled to Sepharose. Amino acid analysis of the peptide isolated by this method is identical to the undecapeptide isolated by Tsou (4) and sequenced by Tuppy and Paleus (5).
