โœฆ Synopsis

Pure rotational transitions of silver chloride generated in an electric discharge have been observed using a cavity microwave Fourier-transform spectrometer. This is the first report of the successful use of this method to generate a metal compound for microwave spectroscopy. The high resolution of the instrument has permitted an improvement of two orders of magnitude in the precision of the 35C1 nuclear quadrupole coupling constants.

Rotational transitions of \({ }^{28} \mathrm{SiF}_{2}\) and four isotopomers of \(\mathrm{GeF}_{2}\) have been investigated using a cavity pulsed microwave Fourier transform spectrometer. Both molecules were prepared in electric discharges, in \(\mathrm{SiF}_{4}\) and \(\mathrm{GeF}_{4}\), respectiv
