A European water pumping station was looking to install two new pumps as part of a site refurbishment.
The drives needed to be both compact and energy saving and so it decided to install two new Danfoss high efficiency, variable speed drives to operate as either duty or standby units.
A t Northumbrian Water' s Lumley Water
Pumping Station in the Northumbria, North East England, the water for the treatment works is pumped from the river Wear at Lumley Riding and, after treatment, is stored in two clear water tanks. The water treatment works has no gravity supply and all water must be pumped from the works. The output from the works supplies two distinct localities, Stonygate-Washington and Rainton-Mill Hill.
