NEWS m e n t , w i t h m e c h a n i c a l seals as standard and at no extra cost. With most manufacturers fitting p a c k e d gland seals as standard ( t h e y have to leak to work!) and offering cheaper carbon/stainless faced seals at extra cost,Nemo's standard high specification silicon carbide-faced seals are d e s i g n e d to p r o v i d e greatly e x t e n d e d service life and eliminate leaking at the p u m p shaft.
C o m m e n t i n g on the move, Nemo's UK managing director Roger Willis says that high volumes across the range (Nemo p r o d u c e s 10 000 p u m p s p e r year) provide economies of scale that allow mechanical seals to be fitted at no extra cost.
He adds that a n u m b e r of other engineering innovations have b e e n i n c o r p o r a t e d in the t h o r o u g h redesign of the NM range to make maintenance even easier. These include a separate front foot and end c o n n e c t i o n design w h i c h allows the end connection to be removed whilst leaving the front foot and bottom two tie rods in place. This facility makes re-assembly much quicker w h e n changing a stator.
