✦ Synopsis
The infrared spectrum of the dimer (CO*, HCN) has been observed at Doppler-limited resolution by pulsed-jet, diode laser spectroscopy in the region of2350 cm-'. The U= l-0 transition in the modified vj mode of CO2 has been analysed to give excitedstate rotational constants and improved ground-state spectroscopic constants from which we conclude that the geometry of this T-shaped molecule is essentially unchanged by the vibrational excitation.
