The presence of benzyl in I-propanol, 2-propanal and ethanol glasses at 77 K markedly affects the' changes' which occur in the absorption spectra of the trapped electrons in the pure alcohols after their production by pulse radiolysis. The well known growth in the visible is considerably reduced whi
