✦ Synopsis
PTFE-free compound is targeted at demanding wear applications
V ictrex Polymer Solutions has intro- duced a PTFE-free thermoplastic compound with both a low coefficient of friction and low wear rate.
The company says that it has been developed in response to requests from design engineers and OEMs for a material with increased durability that meets the requirements of more demanding applications in the automotive and industrial equipment industries.
Victrex WG101 meets the requirements of mechanical load and tribological performance, and is economical to process. It can be processed using existing techniques, and at the same processing temperatures as standard Victrex PEEK polymer.
Key properties of Victrex WG101 include:
--Benefits for wear applications, include:
Victrex WG101 thermoplastic compound can be used in bushings, vane tips in vacuum pumps, thrust washers and seal rings.
