✦ Synopsis

In some systems, the donor of a triplet-triplet energy transfer can be sensitized in its sin&t state throw& a singlstsinglet energy transfer (Dexter mechanism), where the donor is the acceptor of the triplet tr.msfer its&. As a consequence an estra acceptor molecule in the triplet energy transfer is present in the vicinity of the donor. thus enhancing the efiicirncy of the transfer process. Experiments show clearly this effect and a diffusional model gives semiquantttativc agreement with the experimental data.
