The properties of Josephson junctions containing the proximity system Sh-N (where Sh is a high T c film and N is a normal film) are analysed. The amplitude of the Josephson current appears to be largest for the Sh-N-I-Sc junction (where Sc is a conventional superconductor and I is an insulator). Jun

โฆ Synopsis
A proximity system containing a high T~ superconductor can be used to strengthen the field effect. The use of the proximity contact Sh-Nb in the Josephson junction Sh-Nb-lnAs Nb Sh (Sh is a high T c film) is promising from the point of view of making a three-terminal device. The proximity effect can also be used to increase the values of the parameters of a conventional superconductor, such as, T c, critical field and critical current.
