✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Chemical shifts and coupling constants are reported for a series of the title compounds and the effects of substituents on these values correlated with the corresponding effects in benzenes. Partial bond fixation in these and other benzo‐heterocycles is discussed together with the general prediction of NMR parameters in substituted heterocycles.

## Abstract The proton magnetic resonance spectra of 1,4‐benzodithiin and 1,4‐benzodioxin have been fully analyzed. The effects of the substituent heteroatoms on the chemical shifts of the various protons in the two molecules have been discussed.
## Abstract The conformations in solution of 6‐phenyltetrahydropterin, 6,7‐diphenyltetrahydropterin and 6‐7, dimethyltetrahydropterin have been determined from their proton magnetic resonance spectra. The 6‐phenyltetrahydropterin has the reduced pyrazine ring in a half chair conformation with the p
## Abstract The proton chemical shifts are reported for monosubstituted naphthalenes, quinolines and quinoxalines. Together with literature data, these chemical shifts are compared with the parent compounds and substituent effects evaluated statistically. The effect of substituents parallels that i
