Abstract

The proton NMR spectrum of the 8‐spin system of indene has been studied in the nematic phase of N‐(p‐ethoxybenzylidene)‐pn‐butylaniline. Orientation parameters and ratios of interproton distances have been derived and are compared with the results of an electron diffraction study.
