✦ Synopsis
A study of proton magnetic resonance in polycrystalline aliphatic a-xnino acids revealed two distinct second moment transitions between about -180°C and +I 10°C. It was shown that the transitions originate from hindering reorientation of CH3 and NH: groups, and the activation energies for this motion were. calcu!ated. The rigid lattice second moments were calculated and compared with the experimental low temperature values.
