[2]Cl 6 ´16 H 2 O: To a solution of Na[AuCl 4 ] (0.10 g, 0.28 mmol) in water (2 mL) was added 2,2'-thiodiethanol (0.16 mL). The resulting colorless solution was added to a solution of [1]Cl 2 ´5 H 2 O (0.20 g, 0.24 mmol) in water (40 mL). The mixture was stirred at RT for 30 min, followed by addition of several drops of a saturated NaCl aqueous solution. The reaction solution was allowed to stand at RT for 5 days, which gave dark green-brown microcrystals. Yield: 0.22 g (82 %); elemental analysis for [Au 2 {Pd[Co(C
