Abstract
Protoโoncogene products may be multiโfunctional proteins with various roles in cell differentiation as well as cell proliferation. The molecular biology of the gene products of three well characterized protoโoncogenes (cโfos, cโmyc and cโsrc) are described, and the roles of three other protoโoncogene products, involved in hormone and growth factor reception, are reviewed.
