โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Protoโ€oncogene products may be multiโ€functional proteins with various roles in cell differentiation as well as cell proliferation. The molecular biology of the gene products of three well characterized protoโ€oncogenes (cโ€fos, cโ€myc and cโ€src) are described, and the roles of three other protoโ€oncogene products, involved in hormone and growth factor reception, are reviewed.

In a recent paper, we described the expression pattern of proto-oncogenes in primary human renal cell carcinoma [12]. To test the possibility of using xenografts as a useful alternative for such studies, we analyzed xenografts of a number of human renal cell carcinomas in nu/nu mice. Xenografts incl

## Abstract RET and NTRK1 are receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) proteins which play a role in the development and maturation of specific component of the nervous system. Their alterations have been associated to several human diseases, including some forms of cancer and developmental abnormalities. Th
