We discuss the preparation, surface area and thermal resistance of sintered copper heat exchangers intended for establishing thermal contact between liquid He 3 and a nuclear demagnetization refrigerator. This information is used as the basis for the design and construction of a copper nuclear refrigerator with precise temperature control also its performance at millikelvin temperatures is described.
