β¦ Synopsis
YBaCuO microbridges with two-dimensional arrays of superconducting islands connected by diffusion-type weak links have been made and investigated experimentally. The basic structure is a microbridge patterned in a laser deposited YBaCuO thin film. On top of the microbridge a submicron rectangular mesh of 70 nm wide aluminium strips was deposited and subsequently diffused at 300-400"C forming weak links. The arrays were 10 I.tm long and their width varied between 4 and 8 p.m with 500 X 500 nm 2 or 800Γ 800 nm 2 unit cells. The critical current and I-V curves depend nonmonotonically on magnetic field due to the multiply connected nature of the bridge. Microwave radiation from the bridge has been registered with an external receiver. The experimental data could be explained by the vortex motions under the Lorenz force with the magnetic radius larger than the cell size.
