β¦ Synopsis
The study of free Baxter algebras was started by Rota and Cartier 30 years ago. We continue this study by applying two recent constructions of free Baxter algebras. We investigate the basic structure of a free Baxter algebra and characterize in detail when a free Baxter algebra is a domain or a reduced algebra. We also describe the nilpotent radical of a free Baxter algebra when it is not reduced.

The aim of this work is to study the existence of free \*-subalgebras in C\*algebras. The Kurosh Levitzky Problem and related conjectures of Makar-Limanov are answered in the context of C\*-algebras. In particular, we characterize and study the existence of free non-Abelian \*-subalgebras with two s
Let A be a quaternion algebra over a commutative unital ring. We find sufficient conditions for pairs of units of A to generate a free group. Using the Ε½ . well-known isomorphism between SO 3, β«ήβ¬ and the group of real quaternions of norm 1, we obtain free groups of rotations of the Euclidean 3-spac
We consider the free C-algebra B B with N generators , together relationship to generalized, quantized KacαMoody algebras suggests an approach to the problem of classification of these algebras.
One of the four well-known series of simple Lie algebras of Cartan type is the series of Lie algebras of Special type, which are divergence-free Lie algebras associated with polynomial algebras and the operators of taking partial derivatives, connected with volume-preserving diffeomorphisms. In this paper, the concepts of a weak Hopf algebra and a quasi-braided almost bialgebra are introduced. It is shown that the quantum quasi-doubles of some weak Hopf algebras are quasi-braided almost bialgebras. This fact implies that some new solutions of the quantum YangαBaxter equation can be cons
