✦ Synopsis

A procedure for calcuhting the extent of distortion of an atom in a molecule is proposed and applied to the fist-and semnd-row diatomic hydrides. The atomic cbxges in these molecules were also computed.

## Abstract We present analytic refinements and applications of the deformed atomic densities method [FernΓ‘ndez Rico, J.; LΓ³pez, R.; RamΓrez, G. J Chem Phys 1999, 110, 4213–4220]. In this method the molecular electron density is partitioned into atomic contributions, using a minimal deformation cri

The relationships between atomic hardness, atomic electronegativity, and electronic energy are considered and emphasized. A new method for calculating atomic hardness is described. The concept of local hardness is quantified through the calculation of a new variable named alfahardness. Atomic hardne

An approach for a space-separated calculation of the wave function in the valence and core regions of a molecule is proposed. As the first step, the calculation of the orbitals (or two-component spinors in the relativistic case) in the valence region by the effective core potential (ECP) method is p
