An analysis is developed for predicting extinction of-the diffusion flame that is established when an oxidizing gas flows about the nose of a vaporizing fuel body. Use is made of the limit of a large ratio of the activation energy to the thermal energy at the flame for the overall combustion process

Stagnation point Row in a diffusion cell was examined to determine how close the resulting flow approached that produced under ideal conditions, and to evaluate its application to mass transfer systems. Ideal conditions exist when the substance can Bow directly into a barrier, then reflect cleanly w
The behavior of cellular premixed flames of rich butane-air in the two-dimensional stagnation-point flow configuration has been investigated. It is found that the stretching of the cellular flame results in the alignment of the ridge (extinction) and the trough (combustion) zones of the individual c
