✦ Synopsis

Vestas Wind Systems will supply 500 MW worth of wind turbines to Alliant Energy's projects in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota in a deal worth US$817 million. The company has also signed a deal to supply Spanish Eolia Renovables with 74MW of wind turbines, and to provide 123MW of wind turbines to EDF Energies Nouvelles. Vestas is also building an R&D facility in Houston, Texas;

EnXco says it has ordered a further 300MW of wind turbines from GE Energy, bringing the total to 600MW. The turbines will be used in a range of projects in the USA;
