✦ Synopsis

Working Group 2 (Veterinary) was put in place to develop test methods for determining the microbicidal efficacy of disinfectants used in the veterinary field. These test methods will form part of the New European Test Methods for disinfectants, designed to standardize test methods throughout Europe. This paper summarizes the meetings andprogress made. Since the inception of the Working Group there have been eight meetings, the last on 15 October 1993. The Phase 2 Step 1 Bactericidal Test has been agreed and pretests completed. The Phase 2 Step I Fungicidal Test has also been agreed by a majority vote. The main subject that has caused delay and is still causing delay in reaching agreement is the obligatory temperature for tests.
