✦ Synopsis

A Jorecast of Ld, changes within the residential areas oJconstant population density is made in terms of external noise levels (L1L2) and'vehicle travels' (NiN2) for cars, trucks and buses. Anticipated increases ofN 1 and N 2 have been estimated by the use of trend line analysis (Figs. 3 and4). A few hypotheses ofL 1 and L 2 decrease have been considered. Increase of Ld, by more than 3dB may be expected until 1993.
