โœฆ Synopsis

has won the 2010 Chirality Medal, in a stiff competition between a large field of excellent candidates. Professor Mori receives the honor for his tremendous achievements in the synthesis and stereochemistry of natural products, in particular, the developments of enantioselective and enantiospecific synthesis of a large family of insect pheromones and other bioactive natural compounds.

Professor Mori has made seminal contributions to our understanding of the importance of chirality of signal molecules, such as chiral pheromones and hormones of both configurations, and elucidated the relationships between their biological activities and stereochemistry.
