It has been compiled in celebration of his contribution to palaeontology on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean during a research career of almost 40 years, which continues, as he pursues established and new lines of research in his retirement. This issue is written by colleagues, former students and graduates of the University of Liverpool. The subject matter covers many of the scientific areas to which Chris has contributed, including the palaeobiology of primitive echinoderms and related groups, the completeness of the fossil record, Cenomanian events and the Quaternary terrestrial environment, illustrated in part by his list of scientific publications (below).
