✦ Synopsis
We have measured the total emission cross section for H,, Hp prqduction in dissociative collisions between Li+, K+and Hz in the c-m. energy range from 40-500 eV. By applying a branchmg-ratio correction to the total emission data we calculate absolute total cross sections for these dissociative processes. Collisional dissociation is of interest because it may be considered a limiting case for vibrational excitation or three-body rearrangement_ Previous theoreticai and experimental studies in the low-energy regime have concentrated on processes leading primarily to ground-electronic state exit channels [I-S] . On the other hand, while
