✦ Synopsis
IF (B'II,+ -+ X'Z+ ) cbemiluminescence was observed in flame (T> 2000 K) and flow tube (T cl000 K) experiments using the F2, I,, and H, reactants diluted with helium. The emission with hydrogen present is 70 times greater than for I, + Fz alone. The dependence of the emission Intensity on operating parameters Indicates that the primary source of IF electromc excitations is wbrationally excited HF.
