โœฆ Synopsis


The first laser-iiduced fluorescence excitation spectrum of the AIS radical has been observed in the wavelength region of 418-430 nm follawing excimer laser ablation of aluminum metal in the presence of carbonyl sulfide. The spectrum has been assigned to the ( 1,O) and (0,O) bands of the A 2Z+-X *E+ transition by using existing spectroscopic constants to simulate the observed rovibronic structure. The zero-pressure fluorescence lifetimes of AlS(A 2Z+ ) were determined to be 880 f 366 ns and 433 f 150 ns for u' =O and v' = 1, respectively.
