✦ Synopsis
OH À -doped KCl polycrystals are colored electrolytically by using a pointed cathode and a flat anode at various temperatures and voltages. Characteristic O À , OH À , U, U A and Cu + absorption peaks are observed in resolved absorption spectra of uncolored polycrystals. Characteristic V 2 , V 3 , Cu + , O 2 À -V þ a , I À 2 , I 2 , H 2 O À and F spectral bands are observed at room temperature in Kubelka-Munk functions of colored polycrystals. Current-time curve for electrolytic coloration of an OH À -doped KCl polycrystal and its relationship with electrolytic coloration process are given. Production and conversion of color centers are explained.

## Abstract In order to adjust and broaden the absorption spectrum and emission spectrum of the (F~2~^+^)H type color center so as to match up to the pumping and to fit in with the demand of application, a (KBr‐KCl)(OH^−^):(F~2~^+^)H color center laser crystal series was prepared by the process of
