Applicability of the GUHA method of mechanized hypothesis formation (General Unary Hypotheses Automaton) in data analysis is tested by processing of concrete sociological data. For the sake of comparison some usual statistical methods are applied to the same data sample. The advantages of the joint use of mechanized hypothesis formation systems and statistical programs in data analysis are briefly discussed.
