โฆ Synopsis
Single domain superconducting YBCO disks up to 30-50 mm in diameter have been prepared in batch process. A box furnace or a well-styled furnace was used in the processing. High oxygen pressure (up to 2 MPa) annealing of the samples was used in the final treatment. The levitation forces for 30 mm in diameter YBCO single domain disks of 1200 pieces were tested. It is shown that the proportion of the samples with above 10 N/cm 2 levitation force to the total is about 82%. The best value of the force is approximately 16 N/cm 2 under the conditions of 77 K and 0.5 T. An effective method of surface metallic coating on the bulk is also developed.
