This paper describes experimental results for the mediated electrooxidation of 4-nitrotoluene into 4-nitrobenzoic acid. The organic substrate is chemically oxidated by hexavalent chromium in a sulphuric medium (6 M) at 80"C; the presence of a phase transfer agent (tetrabutylammonium hydrogenosulphat
