Fractal Attraction is a Macintosh application with which one uses iterated function systems to design fractals. The ideas are simple -yet one can produce pictures of incredible complexity and beauty. The chapters are: 1. What is Fractal Attraction. 2. Mathematical Background. 3. The Random Algorithm

✦ Synopsis
This conference, held at Lahti, Finland, concentrated on industrial application areas including the supply and distribution of energy, fluid and gas dynamics, electromagnetic fields, welding and casting, phase and shape transitions, chemical reactors, measurements and signals, shape optimization, mechanical systems and others. The diversity of both the applications as well as the mathematical methods involved accentuate the vitality of industrial mathematics. There are altogether seven invited papers, eight in a mini-symposium on optimal supply and distribution of energy and 56 others. Unfortunately the book lacks an index.
