β¦ Synopsis
The acquisition of data relevant to gaseous fluoride wastes in Slovenia was started in our laboratory four years ago with the intention to find out the quantities of particular fluoride wastes and the best way for their treatment or disposition.
From the collected data it is obvious that brick and ceramic industry are among the worst pollutants. The clay from the majority of Slovenian clay pits was characterized. The concentrations of fluoride wastes released from the raw bricks during the firing were measured in different temperature regions. The large fluctuations of fluoride emission values, observed in chimney gases from brick-kilns are discussed and explained.
