β¦ Synopsis
For a dynamical system subject to uncontrollable interference the problem [1-8] of the control that will guarantee an optimum performance index is considered, where the latter is given as a functional of the realized motion. The investigation concerns the case in which information about the history of the motion must be used. A functional-theoretic treatment is presented, reducing the initial problem to the construction of the upper convex hulls of certain auxiliary functions in multidimensional spaces. On the other hand, a method for reducing the problem to constructions in a space of much lower dimension is developed. The method is demonstrated on problems with typical performance indices.
