The carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of modern resins have been used to characterize their botanical sources. Resins from four of the principal diterpenoid resinproducing genera, Agathis, Hymenaea, Pinus, and Araucaria, give distinct NMR spectra under conditions of normal and inter
