Abstract
A new application of genetic algorithms (GAs) for feed point optimization of a coaxial probe fed Eβshape microstrip patch antenna is presented. The GA shows excellent results for finding the best feed point in a given antenna structure. The method of moments is used in this paper, employing RaoβWiltonβGlisson basis functions. The simulation results show that the Eβshape microstrip patch antenna performs well at βΌ2.11 GHz with the minimum return loss of approximately β17.1 dB. Β© 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
