✦ Synopsis

Bean 1 has recently published in this journal the results of computer simulation experiments on the amplitude distribution of sine waves of equal amplitude combined with random phasing. The contribution of this paper is to set the experimental results into a theoretical context. It is shown that the experimental results and theoretical predictions are in sati,sfving agreement.
