## Abstract Two antibacterial fluoroquinolones, levofloxacin and moxifloxacin, were investigated to evaluate their photophysical properties and to explore the mechanism of their phototoxicity. Photophysical experiments were carried out in aqueous solution by stationary and time‐resolved fluorimetry
