✦ Synopsis

Abstract

We applied a clinical tremor rating scale and measures of disability to 200 of 201 multiple sclerosis patients from a prevalence cohort in Olmsted County, Minnesota. In a community‐based sample, tremor was found clinically in 51 (25%) patients, although only 6 (3%) patients had severe tremor. Within the population as a whole, tremor was strongly associated with impairment disability and handicap. Β© 2004 Movement Disorder Society
