## Abstract A kinetic and product study of the reaction of a series of __ฮฑ__โ€methylโ€substituted __N__โ€methylpiperidines with thermally generated ^1^O~2~ in MeCN was carried out. It was found that as the number of __ฮฑ__โ€methyl groups (Me in __ฮฑ__โ€position relative to the Nโ€atom) increases, the rate
