✦ Synopsis
Sera from German patients exhibiting symptoms compatible with the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) or the lymphadenopathy syndrome (LAS) were assayed for antibodies against human T-cell lymphoma/leukemia virus (HTLV-I)-related antigens by enzyme imniunoassay, indirect immunofluorescence, and radioimmunoprecipitation. Antibodies against HTLV were detected in 3 out of 31 sera.
