โœฆ Synopsis

Ba Ca Nb O belongs to the class of complex perovskites recently introduced by Nowick et al. which are suitable 3 1.18 1.82 92d

as high temperature proton conductors (HTPCs). Here, its synthesis is described using a procedure which starts with the preparation of a solution containing Ba and Ca as acetates and Nb as a dispersed hydroxide precipitate. Further steps include the preparation of a paste, freeze drying, calcination and sintering. The characterization procedures include density and porosity measurements, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, conductivity measurements and, finally, thermogravimetry to check the water absorbing properties. Overall, the properties are comparable to those of conventionally prepared samples.

The hydrogen uptake of Ba,(Ca, ,,x Nb, xz)O,\_s (BCN18) was studied in situ by thermogravimetry at different temperatures and water vapour pressures. The results can be described in terms of an ideal solution process. In contrast to earlier investigations on the Y b doped cerate system, the analysis

Anatase-titania films with high optical performances have been deposited via a modified sol-gel route. This involved several precisely controlled processes including a sufficient hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) with excessive water, a peptization at pH value of 1-2, a restrained cond
