Several types of nonbonded and chemically bonded composites of silica with linear and linear-nonlinear aramid polymers were prepared using the sol-gel process. The linear polyamide chains were synthesized by the reaction of a mixture of m-and p-phenylene diamines and terephthaloyl chloride in dimeth

โฆ Synopsis
Silica gels that controlled the pore size were prepared by calcination of silica/organic polymer (50/50 wt %) composites prepared by the sol-gel process. Poly-(ethylene oxide) (PEO) -poly(propyrene oxide) (PPO) -PEO triblock copolymers, which are called poloxamers, were used as an organic polymer. The pore control of the silica gels was carried out by changing the molecular weight of PEO or PPO in the poloxamers. The silica gels obtained by the above procedure had a dual pore size of around 4 nm and below 2 nm in diameter, and the specific surface area was 500-1000 m 2 /g. The poloxamer molecules were supposed to be dispersed monomolecularly in the composites. Therefore, the pore structure of the silica gels reflected the structure of the poloxamer and, particularly, the radius of gyration of PPO in the composites. แญง

Organosoluble polyimide/silica hybrid materials were prepared using the sol-gel process. The organosoluble polyimide was based on pyromellitic anhydride (PMDA) and 4,4ะ-diamino-3,3ะ-dimethyldiphenylmethane (MMDA). The silica particle size in the hybrid is increased from 100 -200 nm for the hybrid co
The preparation of a novel carbon black/alumina gel composite by sol-gel reaction of aluminum isopropoxide (AIP) was investigated. When sol-gel reaction of AIP was carried out in the presence of untreated carbon black, a thin film of alumina gel was hardly obtained, because of the presence of aggreg
Poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride)/silica hybrid material has been successfully prepared from styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) in the presence of a coupling agent (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) by an in situ sol-gel process. It was observed that the gel time of
