β¦ Synopsis
D-and n-Glyceraldehyde
S-phosphates (Ga3P) inactive rabbit muscle aldolase by apparently different mechanisms (1,2). In order to distinguish between these mechanisms, and also to characterize the interaction of each isomer with enzyme, it is essential to develop procedures for obtaining each triose phosphate as a pure isotope. The present work describes a new procedure for the preparation of radioactive n-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate based on the following reactions : sorbitol n-fructose + DPNH p n-sorbitol + DPN dehydrogensse Acttobacter o-sorbitol * L-sorbose subozydans lead 'Communication No. 161 from the Joan and Lester Avnet Institute of Molecular Biology.
