✦ Synopsis

The un-doped, single-doped and co-doped TiO 2 nanopaticles have been synthesized by hydrothermal method at 150 Β°C. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy (UVvis), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and BET method. The results showed that anatase was the predominant phase and specific surface area was about 201 m 2 /g. for the N, Fe co-doped TiO 2. Compared to un-doped TiO 2 , N-TiO 2 Fe-TiO 2 and P-25, the absorption edge of the N, Fe co-doped TiO 2 shifted to longer wavelength and its photocatalytic activity for degradation of methyl orange (MO) under Xe-lamp (350 W) was higher.

## Abstract A photocatalyst, TiO~2βˆ’x~N~y~/AC (activated carbon (AC) supported N‐doped TiO~2~), highly active in both the Vis and UV range, was prepared by calcination of the TiO~2~ precursor prepared by acid‐catalyzed hydrolysis in an ammonia atmosphere. The powders were characterized by diffuse re
