โฆ Synopsis
A radio-gas chromatographic technique had been applied for the quantitative determination of the radioactive labelled 3sCI compounds obtained from the recoil 3SCl atom reaction with C2H 4. Argon gas was added to the system as neutron flux monitor to calibrate the total radioactivity of 3SCl produced. 12 and HI were added as a scavenger to remove the thermal radicals produced. The yields of radioactivity of CF2CI3SC! and C2H53SCI depended on the initial mole fraction ratio of CF2CI2/C2H 4. The major product found was C2H53SCI (>90%) when HI was added as scavenger. In the other system CF3CI/C2H4/I 2 we studied the yields of inorganic and organic compounds labelled with 3sC1. The yield of H3sCI as a function of the mole ratio of CF3C1/C2H 4 is shown.
