✦ Synopsis
The complexes [Li (DIME) 2 ][W(CO) 5 L] [L = OCN 2, NCS 3a, [Na(DIME) 2 ][W(CO) 5 N 3 ] (5), [Li(DIME) 2 ][W 2 (CO) 10 (µ-H)] (6), and [K(DIME) 2 ][W 2 (CO) 10 (µ-CN)] (7) were synthesized in this PPh 2 4, SiMe 2 Ph 8, N(SiMe 3 ) 2 9, CH 2 Ph 10, Si 6 Me 11 11; DIME = diethylene glycol dimethyl ether] have been prepared by manner. The molecular structure of [Li(DIME) 2 ][W(CO) 5 -Si 6 Me 11 ] (11) has been determined by X-ray diffraction reaction of [Li(DIME) 2 ][W(CO) 5 I] (1) with KOCN, KSCN, NaPPh 2 , LiSiMe 2 Ph, LiN(SiMe 3 ) 2 , PhCH 2 MgCl, and KSi 6 Me 11 , analysis. The spectral and chemical properties of 2-11 are discussed. Pyrolysis of 11 leads to tungsten silicide and respectively. Photochemical ligand substitution in W(CO) 6 has been used as an alternative method for the preparation of tungsten carbide. pentacarbonyl tungstates; [K(DIME) 2 ][W(CO) 5 NCS] (3b),
